Safer Gambling Week 2021

This week is Safer Gambling Week and all week we will be raising awareness about the harms caused by gambling, sharing tips on how to gamble safely, and signposting people to support avenues.

Approximately 9 people in every 1000 currently have a problem with gambling; however, a further 70 people per 1000 gamble at risky levels that could become a problem in the future.

At Aquarius we offer gambling support services to adults  over the age of 16 in the Midlands (through our partnership with GamCare). We provide support, information, and advice to anyone suffering with the harms caused by gambling, as well as to family members and friends affected by someone else’s gambling. We also offer support for young people struggling with gambling.

At Aquarius we know that recovery is possible and that we can help create positive behaviour changes to help improve your quality of life, repair relationships and help you to stay in control.

Here’s what to expect from us this Safer Gambling Week:

  • On our social media we’ll be sharing top tips and advice about safer gambling from our team of expert practitioners.
  • We’ll be sharing the recovery stories of people we have supported. Through this we hope to show you the impact of our quality support, but also that recovery is possible.
  • We’ll be signposting to our support avenues right here at Aquarius in the Midlands.
  • Our staff will be out and about this week across the Midlands sharing advice and talking to people about the services  we offer at Aquarius. We look forward to sharing updates on their whereabouts throughout the week!
