In 2014, Aquarius pioneered a workplace support service for people affected by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. We recognised that local services could not provide unlimited resources and wanted organisations to play an active role in recovery. With many employees experiencing these issues, workplace engagement quickly became a powerful way to meet our vision.

What We Provide

Over the last decade we have shaped our workplace support into three core offers:

  • Strategic consultancy – workplace risk and wellbeing assessments, plus policy development
  • Awareness, education, and skills training
  • Direct employee support

Why It Matters

Through these services we:

  • Improve access to local support
  • Reach people who may not seek help elsewhere
  • Use education to prevent risks and strengthen wellbeing

To maximise impact, we work with stakeholders to spot gaps in existing services. Where traditional routes are not effective, we deliver alternatives. Our cost recovery model, supported by workplace partners, makes this possible. In return, employers gain tailored solutions, insight into interventions, and the chance to be part of the recovery process.

The Impact So Far

We have supported thousands of people in hundreds of organisations. Our partnerships span both the public and private sectors, including West Midlands Fire Service, West Mercia Police, Jaguar Land Rover, Royal Mail Group, Stanley Black and Decker, Weetabix, and Heathrow Airport.

Breaking the Stigma Together

Our aim is not only to provide support but also to challenge stigma. A Regional Manager at NatWest shared their experience of our workplace training:

“We were looking to break the stigma of addiction and open up to talk about such an incredibly common issue instead of letting people suffer in silence. We had great feedback from colleagues across the bank who valued the tools to spot signs and start conversations. Aquarius made the training engaging, accessible, and interactive while also providing excellent follow-up support. What shines through most is their passion, sensitivity, and authenticity in everything they do.”

Moving Forward

Breaking the stigma of alcohol in the workplace requires honest conversations and proactive action.
