At Aquarius, we support people affected by alcohol, drugs and gambling to lead lives they value. We do this through practical, person-centred services across the Midlands – and none of it would be possible without our brilliant teams.

When you join Aquarius, you’re not just taking on a role. You’re becoming part of a values-led charity that puts people first – whether that’s the individuals we support or the colleagues we work alongside.

Why work at Aquarius?

We know how much energy, empathy and creativity it takes to do this work well. That’s why we’re committed to creating a workplace where you feel supported, empowered and inspired every day.

You’ll be part of a warm and collaborative team.

You’ll have the space to grow, learn and develop professionally.

You’ll join a charity that genuinely lives its values – courage, inclusion, compassion, integrity and collaboration.

And you’ll get to be part of a bigger network through our partnership with Waythrough, a national group of charities supporting mental health and wellbeing.

Who we’re looking for

We’re always on the lookout for passionate, curious and caring people who are ready to make a difference.

You might have years of experience, or be starting out. You might have lived experience of addiction or recovery, or a personal connection to the issues we work with.

What matters most is that you:

  • Put people first
  • Communicate with empathy and clarity
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Are open to learning and growing
  • Value diversity and difference
  • Want to play a part in building a more supportive, compassionate society

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life – and we’re particularly proud to offer roles, placements and training opportunities for people with lived experience of the issues we support.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We want Aquarius to reflect the communities we serve. That means celebrating our differences, championing equality, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.

From our recruitment processes to our training, progression and wellbeing offer, inclusion is not just a tick box – it’s a core part of who we are.

We treat every person as an individual with unique strengths, talents and perspectives. And we’re always working to remove barriers and create better access to employment through volunteering, peer mentoring, apprenticeships and more.

What to expect

When you join Aquarius, you’ll have:

  • A structured induction and ongoing training
  • Access to wellbeing support and peer networks
  • Opportunities to grow your skills and responsibilities
  • The chance to be part of shaping services and culture
  • A team that truly has your back

You’ll also benefit from being part of Waythrough – giving you access to a wider network, additional resources, and even more chances to connect and grow.

How to apply

All recruitment is managed via Waythrough, our wider group of charities.
